Tom Hunt
Before relocating to Australia, Tom Hunt served as a UK Member of Parliament and senior public affairs and communications adviser, with extensive experience navigating complex political, legislative and media environments. He brings a strong understanding of how governments, parliaments, regulators and the media interact, and how policy outcomes are shaped through strategy, messaging and stakeholder engagement.
Tom served as Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland during a period of high-stakes negotiations, helping to manage complex stakeholder dynamics and steer contentious legislation through Parliament. He was also appointed the Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy to Bangladesh, leading senior trade engagement with one of the world’s fastest-growing economies.
Before Parliament, Tom was Chief of Staff at the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Mayoral Combined Authority, gaining in-depth experience of how sub-national government operates in practice, including infrastructure delivery, skills policy and coordination with central government.
Tom is an experienced media performer and former senior communications executive, having advised decision-makers, built and led high-performing teams, and operated under sustained political and media scrutiny.
Now based in Australia, Tom advises on complex policy, legislative and media challenges, bringing international perspective and senior political experience to Australian public affairs work.
